Event Details

Mind the Gap Networking Event:   

At the Mind the Gap networking event you will be challenged to put into practice what you will have learned at one of the workshops during the day.

Who should attend?  Postgraduate and Undergraduate students, University Staff and Local Businesses/Employers. 

Agenda:

The event will involve all students taking part in the following exercises:

- Focus Groups discussing the future of work

- Peer on Peer Interviews: your chance to see through the eyes of the interviewer

- Meet employers and get valuable feedback on your interview technique (limited spaces which will allocated at the workshop)

- Speed Networking; meet up to 10 new people in half an hour

If you are ambitious about gaining the edge on graduation and preparing yourself for a rapidly changing world of work then make sure you attend both a workshop and the evening event.  

Please note:  You need to register for both a Mind The Gap Workshop and the evening event separately.  

If you have NOT already registered for a workshop, choose which time is convenient for you and click on the workshop link to register:   

Workshop A) 9.15 to 12.05 (Targeted at postgraduates; http://workshopa-postgraduates.eventbrite.com/)

Workshop C) 15.15 - 17.05 (All students; http://workshopc-allstudents.eventbrite.com/)

The workshops are repeated three times, the first workshop is specifically targeted at Postgraduates however Undergraduates are welcome to attend if this is the only convenient time.  Postgraduates are also welcome to attend either of the other workshops if they cannot attend Workshop A.

The Mind the Gap Roadshow - an event to help postgraduate & undergraduate students to understand their capabilities and help to shape their future. ===================================== Future Foundations are working with the The University of Bath Students' Union, Enterprise, job Link and the Postgraduate Skills Training Coordinator to create workshops, a presentation skills competition and an evening networking reception which will help Bath students to understand their capabilities and where they can take their future. ===================================== The day will consist of: - an interactive workshop (this will be repeated three times, the first workshop is targeted at Postgraduate students), students are free to choose which one is most convenient for them - a sell yourself competition filmed by Newspepper.com throughout the day - an evening 'introduction to networking' event at Elements in the Student Union which will put into practice what you have learnt at the workshops Please note; the evening networking event will put into practice what is learnt at the workshops, students are therefore advised to attend both a workshop and the evening event.
